JRC and the IoD have collaborated on an initiative to raise awarenes around suicide prevention in our local business community. The programme is designed to raise awareness, give individuals knowledge and tools and reduce stigma through training and education. It is being kindly supported by the Mason family. 

The training has been designed as part of JRC's Mental Health at Work programme.  JRC will deliver nine sessions to businesses over the course of this year. The 2-hour course, delivered by a qualified practitioner in conjunction with someone with lived experience, will cover:

• Identifying myths about suicide
• Discussing fears around talking about suicide
• Recognising signs of emotional distress
• Developing ways of talking about suicide         
• Considering whether they could support someone experiencing thoughts of suicide
